In the ancient, beating heart of Damascus—the oldest continuously inhabited capital in the world—a story of unrivalled craftsmanship began. It was the year 1931 when our grandfather, George, first opened the doors of AtiQ Meaning ‘ancient’ in Arabic.

Amidst the labyrinthine alleys of the legendary Gold Souk, where the air was thick with the scent of jasmine and the rhythmic tapping of silversmiths, George established an atelier dedicated to the finest gold and precious jewels.

By the 1970s, AtiQ Jewels had evolved into a venerable familial institution. With George and his sons at the helm. Such was the reputation of the house that it was no longer solely the domain of Damascenes; patrons would travel across varied landscapes, journeying from distant cities and quiet villages simply to acquire a AtiQ piece.

The year 1985 marked a pivotal chapter in our heritage.

The family introduced our very first collection of beads. We sourced and offered tens of authentic, rare bead varieties, marrying our traditional jeweller's discipline with the rich, spiritual, and cultural significance of gemstone and resin craftsmanship.
